GIPL is participating in a mass distributed art-ritual to grieve what each of us stands to lose to climate chaos and affirm our solidarity, as we unite to fight against it. You are invited to gather prayers utilizing GIPL’s Climate Prayer Kit – an assembled package that will be sent to you with all instructions for participating. Our goal is to have at least 5,000 prayers strung together as a chain by November 1, 2019, in preparation for the Georgia Climate Conference.

Here are examples of how and where you can collect prayers from your faith community:

  • Set up a prayer table at your weekly worship/prayer service or special holy day observances;

  • Have your green team use the kit during one of your regularly scheduled meetings;

  • Include voices of youth & children by offering it during Vaction Bible School/Summer Camp;

  • Use as an outreach activity at a community event in which your faith community is participating, such as a street festival or community picnic.

Your prayers should be returned to GIPL in the provided envelope and will be added to the collection of prayers pouring in from across the state.  Tell your friends and other faith communities within your network about this powerful project!
