Coffee & Something Stronger Livestream with Alice Keyes

Date:
August 11

Time:
10:00 am - 11:00 am

Join GIPL's Codi Norred and Alice Keyes, Vice President of Coastal Conservation for One Hundred Miles (OHM), for the next episode of Coffee & Something Stronger.  Alice and OHM frequently collaborate with GIPL on coastal program offerings.

Alice grew up in the town of Ruston in north central Louisiana. She gained an appreciation and passion for the natural environment while climbing trees, fishing, and exploring the outdoors in the piney woods of her hometown. Alice attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Biology. She also received a Master’s degree in Conservation Ecology and Sustainable Development from the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia.

Before joining One Hundred Miles, Alice served as a program officer for the R. Howard Dobbs, Jr. Foundation. Her career has largely focused on water issues – working as a policy advisor to the Director of the State of Georgia Environmental Protection Division and Director of Water Resource Programs at the Georgia Conservancy.

Alice is an active member of the Glynn County 4-H Advisory Council and a founding board member of the Alliance for Water Efficiency. She is a graduate of the Institute of Georgia Environmental Leadership and in 2012, was honored with the Georgia Association of Water Professionals President’s Award for her work in water conservation.

Alice lives in Brunswick with her husband Tim and four children. They attend The Chapel UMC, canoe as much as possible, and watch a lot of birds.

Tune into GIPL's Facebook page: http://facebook.com/georgiaIPL to take part in this coffee chat.

GIPL launched "Coffee & Something Stronger" on Tuesday, May 5!  Each Tuesday GIPL's Codi Norred will invite a faith leader or environmental activist to a conversation on the intersections of faith, climate, and justice.
