Compassionate Atlanta is hosting their first annual CompassionCon from May 20-22.  It is a three-day event throughout Georgia, centering on the viral nature of compassion through developing awareness, education, and action around compassion for self, others, and the Earth. GIPL is excited to partner with Compassionate Atlanta to hold a river clean-up on Sunday, May 22nd to help build awareness for compassion toward the earth.

We invite faith communities and those participating in CompassionCon to join us from 3-5 pm on May 22nd at Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve (2580 Pine Bluff Dr, Decatur, GA 30033) to help clean trash and debris out of the river. We will gather near the pavilion and learn about the watershed and the importance of water conservation and protection. Then, we will walk through the preserve to the creek for the clean-up.

Gloves, bags, and some tools will be provided. Please wear shoes and clothing that can get muddy and wet. This is a free event, but registration is required.
