GIPL’s Third Annual Green Team Summit will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at General Board of Global Ministries in Atlanta, GA.  All Creation Care champions and environmental stewards from congregations across the state are invited to join us for this interfaith celebration featuring an inspiring keynote address, educational workshops, and a delicious brunch.  This year’s theme is Facing the Rising Sun: Climate Change & Ecowomanist Wisdom.

Featuring Keynote Address
“Earth Honoring Faiths: Living Inspired in Our Time”
by Rev. Dr. Melanie Harris, ethicist & eco-womanist scholar

Rev. Dr. Melanie L. Harris’ scholarship critically examines intersections between race, religion, gender and environmental ethics. She is the author of several books and scholarly articles including Ecowomanism: African American Women and Earth Honoring Faiths (Orbis 2017) and is ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.  More information.

This will be a great opportunity to network with other people of faith committed to our shared work of caring for the Earth. You’ll walk away with best practices for engaging your congregation back home too!
