Jesus Calls Us
Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11: 28-30, NRSV
The Presbyterian Church-USA (PCUSA) is mobilizing for climate action and solutions through congregational and personal efforts that include worship, advocacy, and education while making sanctuaries more efficient and sustainable.
In 2018, the 223rd General Assembly of the PCUSA (the ecclesiastical arm of the church) approved policy for the entire church to be “bold and courageous” in addressing one of the greatest moral challenges the world has ever faced — climate change. Creation care organization, Blessed Tomorrow, partnered with PCUSA’s Hunger Program to produce a short film highlighting this call to climate action titled, “Jesus Calls Us.” Presbyterian Mission Agency President and Executive Director, Diane Moffett, narrates and explains “Presbyterians are making a difference in the care of creation in the broader world, yet there is much to be done.”
How will you respond to this call?
