Advent is one of the most liminal times in the Christian year. During Advent, we as Christians prepare for the coming of Christ, God enfleshed to live among us. We remember ancient peoples’ longing for a Savior, the prophet John calling out from the wilderness, “Prepare the way.” We remember the birth of Christ in a cavern stable and the ways Jesus’s presence among us offers hope, love, joy, and peace. Advent is thus the perfect time to engage in the care of creation because people are primed to see God’s intimate connection with the earth. We may anticipate Christ’s continued manifestation in the natural world and may find new ways to respond to the gift of salvation with sustainable action.

The proceeds support advocacy work in environmental justice communities in Georgia through the sustained work of Georgia Interfaith Power and Light.
