South Georgia Organizer (Full-Time/Exempt/South Georgia Based)

GIPL is seeking a passionate and strategic South Georgia Organizer to build and strengthen our presence in South Georgia (Valdosta, Adel, Albany, Tifton, Douglas, Waycross, or nearby). Under the direct/remote supervision of GIPL’s Organizing Director, this role is responsible for engaging and supporting congregations, forming and sustaining Green Teams, and organizing grassroots advocacy around environmental justice, particularly in response to the growing biomass industry and other threats facing frontline communities.

This role is about connection and action. The ideal candidate will be deeply familiar with the region, fluent in GIPL’s suite of programs, and committed to recruiting and equipping congregations to actively participate in those programs. This includes educating and mobilizing faith communities to advocate for policies that protect frontline communities, equip congregations to take meaningful steps in sustainability, and help amplify the voices of those disproportionately affected by environmental injustices.

ReWilding Program Coordinator (Full-Time/Exempt/Atlanta Based)

GIPL is seeking a Program Coordinator to spearhead the expansion of the organization’s ReWilding program in partnership with GIPL’s Program Director. This dynamic and outward-facing position blends grassroots community organizing, faith-based education, and environmental restoration. The Coordinator will recruit, inspire, and coach congregations across Georgia—especially in underinvested areas—to form or deepen Green Teams, host tree-planting events, and become ongoing stewards of local environmental action.

The ideal candidate is passionate about climate justice and the power of faith communities to lead change. They are a skilled communicator, highly organized, and comfortable traveling frequently throughout Georgia to build relationships and support on-the-ground work. This position is based in Atlanta, with significant in-state travel required.
