Ayesha Abid, M.L.I.S. (she/her)
Policy & Advocacy Coordinator | 404.377.5552 | ayesha@gipl.org
Ayesha joined Georgia Interfaith Power & Light in 2023 as a Program Coordinator. In this role, she collaborated and supported the program team in their outreach work, as well as the development and implementation of GIPL’s practical climate solutions and educational resourcing, primarily supporting GIPL’s Power-Wise program.
In 2026, she moved over to the Organizing Team, serving as GIPL’s newest Policy and Advocacy Coordinator. In this role, she supports community education and civic engagement coordination, with particular responsibility for GIPL’s work on nonpartisan Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts.
Born and raised in Georgia, Ayesha has immersed herself in the Pakistani diaspora. Before coming to GIPL, she served as an organizer for the Georgia Muslim Voter Project. She has consistently worked to elevate marginalized communities and believes that voting is a fundamental tenet of democracy. She hopes to continue to encourage others to stay educated and engaged in politics around climate action. We must continue to work together to build a better Georgia for all.
Ayesha holds a Master’s in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University and a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University in Multimedia Journalism. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, learning to play the guitar, reading, and writing.
