Food Well Alliance: Strengthening Atlanta's Local Food System

The Food Well Alliance of Atlanta, an organization formed in partnership with Atlanta Community Food Bank, is providing funding for local foods systems through the 2016 Local Food Grant.The Local Food Grant program is designed to support entrepreneurs, community organizers, and educators who are using local food as a transformational tool to build healthier communities through programs and projects that are making systemic impacts in the strategic areas of economic development, health and nutrition, community vitality, and environmental stewardship.Selection is based on the following priorities:

1. Enhance viability and productivity of local farming enterprises2. Increase access to fresh, healthy produce locally grown3. Increase food waste recovery and composting that directly supports sustainable farming practices

foodwell allianceThrough the grant, Food Well Alliance seeks to strengthen the local food system by investing $350,000 in place-based collaborations and systemic solutions.Step by step instructions can be found at the Food Well Alliance 2016 Local Food Grant page. The deadline to apply for the Local Food Grant is December 15, 2015 at 11:59pm EST.Food Well Alliance connects people and resources across Metro Atlanta to amplify and accelerate the local food movement. More people working together will increase solutions, participation and resources.
