Ramadan Mubarak!!رمضان مبارك"Now, behold! Your Lord said to the angels: I am placing upon the earth a human successor to steward it." (Quran 2:30)We at GIPL wish our Muslim brothers and sisters a peace-filled, blessed Ramadan, which starts at sundown this Friday. Throughout the month of Ramadan, we will be sharing reflections on the GIPL blog about Ramadan and the environment from friends within Georgia's Islamic community. As Muslims across the world enter into this month of fasting and prayer this Saturday, our friends at Wisconsin Green Muslims have created a calendar of daily actions that are intended to shape a more ecologically-sustainable Ramadan. This special season can be transformed into a truly green month.  Muslims, with all people of faith, can live up to their responsibility to be the true stewards on earth, utilizing the observance of Ramadan to help us reach that goal. Take a look at the resource below to begin and let us know how you are observing a green Ramadan this year.
