Earth Day Celebrations


The weekend of April 22-23 marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement, commonly known as Earth Day. It is a time dedicated to raising awareness of global environmental injustice and the climate crisis. A number of faith communities host workshops and celebrations this day that are open to the public, including some taught by GIPL staff. Check out the current list below:

If your faith community or Green Team is planning an Earth Day celebration this weekend and it is not listed here, please let us know below and you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a $500 mini-grant for your faith community to execute a sustainability project (like a tree planting, a pollinator garden, or purchasing recycling bins) for your local community. One submission per congregation.
