GIPL launched “Coffee & Something Stronger,” a video podcast at the intersection of faith, climate, and justice, on May 5, 2020. GIPL Executive Director, Codi Norred, sat down with faith leaders and environmental activists weekly to discuss policies and practices that improve community relations with Sacred Earth. Currently, the podcast is on hiatus and will relaunch later this year. Find some of our favorite moments below.

A Conversation with Rabbi Ronald Segal

Rabbi Ron Segal joined the Temple Sinai clergy in July 1996, serving as Assistant and then Associate Rabbi until he was named the congregation’s third Senior Rabbi in July 2006. Rabbi Segal is currently the President of the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR), the international rabbinic organization of the Reform Movement.

A Conversation with Rev. Susan Hendershot

Rev. Susan Hendershot is the President of national Interfaith Power & Light. She received her Master of Divinity degree from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. After graduate school, Rev. Hendershot moved to Iowa, where she was ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and served as a pastor in local congregations, focusing on social justice.

A Conversation with Brian Savoie & Susan Varlamoff

Brian Savoie serves as the Sustainability Program Coordinator in the Office of Life, Dignity, & Justice of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta and Susan Varlamoff is a Sustainability Consultant for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. As a leader in Atlanta’s Laudato Si Initiative, Brian Savoie works with parishes and schools to create and implement Sustainability Improvement Plans. Susan Varlamoff is a biologist, author, and lecturer who has worked for 40 years protecting the environment.
