Born in Atlanta and raised in Rome, Georgia, Sam developed a deep love for the natural world at a young age. Some of their earliest memories include climbing trees, planting gardens, and experiencing the wonder of Appalachian forests and hills. As a devout pagan, Sam sees the Divine as immanent in the Earth and its cycles. Their deep, spiritual commitment to the Earth has led them to a career centered on faith, community, and justice.
Sam is a member of Reclaiming, an international neopagan community working to unify spirit and politics, where she serves as a teacher, priestess, and representative on Reclaiming’s decision-making body. She is also a member of the Fellowship of Fire & Ice, a radically inclusive Norse pagan fellowship, where she is part of the ritual team. She is the author of books and articles about pagan spirituality, with a focus on accessibility and queer faith experiences.
Sam holds a degree in Digital Storytelling from Berry College and has over five years of experience in nonprofit marketing. They are currently pursuing a clergy apprenticeship and ordination to allow them to better serve their faith community.
Sam lives in Lithonia with her partner and pets. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, tabletop games, and spoiling her nieces and nephews.
