Shonda Hoffmeyer, M.A. ED (she/her)
Operations & Administration Manager
Shonda serves as the Operations & Administration Manager at Georgia Interfaith Power & Light. In this role, she works across departments, supporting finance, human resources, and day-to-day operational needs. She provides the behind-the-scenes support that helps the team stay organized and focused on their work and mission.
Shonda brings a unique perspective shaped by her diverse professional experiences. She spent 12 years teaching elementary and middle school in Macon and Atlanta before transitioning to teaching piano at a local Atlanta music school. Her role at the music school eventually expanded to include office administration and bookkeeping, where she gained valuable experience managing the financial side of the organization while continuing to teach music.
As her career evolved, Shonda moved into the nonprofit sector. She spent several years working with the European community in the Southeast at the Franco-German Cultural Center, Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta, where she served as Finance and Program Manager.
Shonda holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in History from Lee University and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Wesleyan College. While working at Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta, she also earned a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Johns Hopkins University.
Originally from Reno, Nevada, Shonda has called California, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Georgia home. Outside of work, she enjoys reading with her husband and son, traveling to new places, and cooking fun recipes inspired by their travels. Their busy household includes two cats, a dog, and a shared enthusiasm for following several soccer teams around the world.
