Sydney is a third-year Master of Divinity student at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. With a bachelor's degree in religious studies emphasizing gender and race, from Transylvania University located in Lexington, Kentucky, she has worked to uncover the connections between faith, racial identity, and barriers that can potentially limit one's quality of life.
During her time at Transylvania University, not only did Sydney work in her school's Interfaith Alliance group and sustainability chapter, but she also served in positions that connected her to the community of Lexington to understand what matters the most when it comes time to vote during election cycles.
While serving at GIPL, Sydney seeks to use her knowledge of grassroots organizing, her love of people, and her theological knowledge from Candler to bolster her role in matters pertaining to local, state, and national actions when it comes to climate-change matters.
