GIPL’s Water Wise program is designed to help congregations understand their water usage in order to explore and implement water-efficiency upgrades. Water is one of the most precious resources we have. Likewise, conserving water resources is one of the most important things a faith community can do to combat the negative effects of climate change, resource depletion, drought, and habitat reduction.

Furthermore, water prices within the Metro Atlanta area, in particular, within the City of Atlanta, are generally higher than anywhere else in the state. Our Water Wise audits can help your congregation see significant savings on your water bill through implementing more water-efficient upgrades and appliances.

Our Water Wise audits are currently only available to faith communities within Metro Atlanta/the I-285 perimeter.

Enrollment in the Water Wise Program Includes:

  • Professional Water Audit
  • Analysis of Water Data of the entire congregation’s campus
  • Customized Water Efficiency Projects and Implementation Plan
  • Personal Audit review and debrief in consultation with GIPL staff

Synagogues, mosques, churches, temples, religious schools, and other worship facilities are eligible to participate in this program! The fee to enroll in Water Wise is ranges from $75-$125 and is based on a congregation’s membership.

Completed enrollment forms can be emailed to Hannah Shultz at OR mailed to Georgia Interfaith Power & Light, Attn: Hannah Shultz, 701 S. Columbia Drive, Campus Box 326, Decatur, GA 30030.
