Grandparents' Climate Action Days: Smile for a Sustainable Future!

Calling all Elders, Grandparents and Keepers of our future! Our friends at Elders’ Climate Action are leading Grandparents’ Climate Action Days on September 9 and 10 in Washington, DC. We’re supporting them by taking photos to share on social media, showing that we support a sustainable future filled with clean air, abundant water and nourishing foods for future generations. They say a picture is worth a 1,000 words. We’d like for your photos to speak volumes! Please share a “selfie” or photo of yourself along with your grandchildren or younger ones you hold dear. Email that photo to GIPL along with a quote about why you care for Creation. Some Questions to ponder:

  • As a grandparent, how do you practice stewardship?
  • As an elder, how do you share with younger generations about Earth care?
  • How do you pass down Creation care as a witness to your faith?
  • What’s your hope for a sustainable future?
  • Or, complete this sentence: I hope for a world where my grandchildren will…

THEN:Email that photo to info@gipl.org between August 22 – September 10. We’ll take the photo, create a graphic with your Creation care quote and post to our social media network until September 15.Submit your photo along with this helpful info:Your Name (and names of others in the photo – optional)Your Congregation or Faith CommunityYour CityCopy & paste this statement in your email: I grant permission to GIPL, Inc to use my photo and quote on its website and social media accounts for the purpose of growing its mission of faith-based environmental stewardship.
