GIPL and Southface invite you to join us for the fourth of our six-part training and roundtable discussion in preparation for the 2025 Georgia Power Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), the utility’s 20-year energy resource plan.
This fourth session will consider Georgia Power’s solar procurement programs and explore the utility’s solar valuation in system planning, alongside a targeted discussion of the importance of transmission planning in the IRP and its impact on the expansion of renewable energy.
We have two outstanding speakers lined up for the first half:
Katie Ottenweller from Google will explore renewable energy advancements
Maggie Shober from the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy will dive into transmission topics
For the second half of the session, we’re introducing an exciting new concept: IRP Shark Tank. This interactive segment will be a fun and engaging way to dive deeper into the material, and we’d love for you to participate! HERE you’ll find the IRP Shark Tank participation guidelines. Please email Kevin Kelly at kkelly@southface.org to volunteer and help bring this idea to life.
Each session is hosted in person at Legacy Park in Decatur (500 S Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA 30030) from 12-2 p.m. with lunch served prior to each session at 11:30 a.m. We will also support virtual participation, though portions of some sessions may not be available online.
Register below for this session and upcoming sessions. All sessions will be recorded and recordings will be distributed the week following each session for those that register.
