Power Trip Stop: Macon

  • Centenary United Methodist Church 1290 College Street Macon, GA, 31201 United States (map)

This summer, we’re following the path of power across Georgia, tracing how it's made, how it's priced, and how it's felt in communities. From urban centers to rural towns, we'll be listening to the people living with and paying the true cost of fossil fuel decisions. Throughout this statewide journey, we will work to connect policy to place and people, revealing that energy isn't just infrastructure, it's lived experience!

Our next stop: Centenary United Methodist Church in Macon, Georgia, on Sunday, June 28. GIPL’s very own, Rev. Jay Horton, will be preaching Creation care in worship at 11 a.m., and then from 12:30-2 p.m., we’ll have a free pizza lunch and workshop.

We'll discuss data centers, energy burden, and a proposed methane pipeline expansion running just south of Macon. We’ll discuss why faith leaders are raising concerns, how these issues connect to the broader fight for energy justice in Georgia, and what you can do about it.
