This year, two Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) seats are up for election. While the PSC may not be on everyone’s radar, these elected officials directly determine how much you pay for power and where that power comes from. With six electricity bill hikes for Georgia Power residential customers in the last three years and a doubling down by the state on fossil fuels, it is more important than ever for people of faith and conscience to help get out the vote in this election.
Join Georgia Interfaith Power & Light (GIPL) on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 6-8 p.m. for our last virtual text bank of this special election season. During this online gathering, GIPL staff will guide you and your Green Team as you connect with neighbors to share a nonpartisan reminder about the importance of exercising the right to vote.
Groups of two or more who commit to texting for at least one hour will be eligible to apply for a $500 grant (more info coming soon).
